Born into a musical family in “small-town Texas,” Janie began performing with her mother and sisters at a very early age. She’s a self-taught guitarist, but her first love is singing.  Formerly a member of the Central Pennsylvania Womyn’s Chorus, a cappella quartet Three J’s and a C, and t.l.o. stone soup,  Janie performed for the last 10 years in local duo Womack & Lowery.  In 2012, she released her first full-length CD of original music, “Songs in the Key of J.”

Janie plays the local Central PA coffeehouse circuit, as well as festivals and private events. She also gives back to her community by donating her time and talents to non-profit organizations in the area. She performs “music of many colors” including originals, blues, country, ballads, folk, Americana, and even old standards. Her style is acoustic, and her delivery straight & true.
